Delighted to share that Sutton’s Green Enterprise Partnership (#GEP) has been named finalist at the TheMJ‘s Achievements Awards 2026 in the Delivering Resilient and Sustainable Growth category and not only that, the scheme has also been shortlisted Finalist at the #LGCAwards 2026 in the #NetZero category.
A comment from London Borough of Sutton below:
This year marks the first year running the scheme as business as usual, and we are still awaiting the results. That said, we wrapped up our Business Rates Incentive for Small Business Transition to a Green Economy pilot last year and achieved some remarkable outcomes.
From smashing our 5% emissions reduction target (with businesses delivering, on average, a 20% independently verified emissions reduction), to growing significantly from an initial cohort of 22 businesses to supporting over 200 in just a couple of years, and becoming the largest public-led green business technical assistance programme in London. Together, these demonstrate the ambition, reach, and delivery capability of Sutton’s approach.
Being shortlisted is a real testament to the people behind this – colleagues, delivery partners, and, above all, Sutton businesses who have embraced the work with real energy, commitment and ambition!
