Graffiti is an issue for all districts up and down the country. The Business Improvement District offers support for business with the removal from graffiti from business premises.
Graffiti has a detrimental impact on our members for obvious reasons, but also, it makes the place we operate our businesses from feel and look run down, and depending on its content, unsafe.
The responsibility to remove graffiti from public realm, all other spaces, belongs to the Council. They will come and remove graffiti from public walls, parks and other locations and with urgency when that graffiti is offensive.
For all other spaces, the BID works with CC Infrastructure to provide graffiti removal out of hours so it does not impact on business operations.
Our BID Support and Town Centre Support officers provide us with reports of areas effected by graffiti and this information is shared with the Council and logged from our site to create a list of businesses where CC infrastructure can attend. This work is more value for money if we have multiple sites to work on at one time, the call out cost and engineer costs being the same for multiple sites as it is for one. However, if your graffiti is offensive, causes distress or has greater detrimental impact to your business operation we will ask CC infrastructure to attend.
If you have graffiti on or near your premises, you can complete the form here
We will review the location and if the works are for the Council, we will report this to them as a matter of urgency and follow up with you within 48 hours to see if the work has been completed.
An email will be sent to all businesses when we have a confirmed period for CC infrastructure to attend to encourage you to complete this form before attendance so we can add your site to the schedule.
