A massive thank you to everyone who came along to see the launch of our Community Christmas in Sutton.
We work with some amazing partners to bring this local event together, and we could not have done it without their support. From our performers, providers, stall holders and High Street businesses, everyone who got involved in this event and the events coming over Christmas have been simply amazing!
We wanted to make the most of our Christmas budget this year, so have taken festivities beyond just one main event and have spread it out up to the 14th December, not only that, we have:
- Sponsored Manor Park Christmas Tree sponsorship – least we can do for the lovely garden of the High Street.
- Created a page pull out in Time and Leisure to promote our venues and independent businesses.
- Installed Two new trees at Barclays Bank and ASDA areas of the High Street, to promote our Win a Window competition and Market.
- Launched Win the Window Competition with increased entry opportunities at selected businesses on the High Street. With prizes purchased from Sutton High Street businesses only.
- Increased footfall to Times Square through the delivery of a Christmas Market and workshops every weekend until 14th December.
- Sponsored activities in St Nicholas Centre over the festive period.
- Worked with both Throwley Yard and Omniplex Cinema in delivering festive events.
- Coordinated additional walk about acts and performances on the High Street from now until 14th December.
- Sponsored Christmas lights designed by Sutton children, who can take them home when they come down in January to keep!
- Installed additional lights to the South and North end of the High Street (up from week commencing 3rd December).
- Increased BID support officer patrols for last two weeks of Christmas in line with Christmas opening.
