+++MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL EVENT NOW MOVED TO THROWLEY YARD CINEMA+++
The Moon Bloom is coming to Sutton High Street this September. Our first moon gate and urban garden, designed by Adrienne Lau from Edgy Collective, the Moon Bloom will be open to the public as part of the wider Mid Autumn Festival celebrations (see link for further details).
The Moon Bloom is being built in partnership with Sutton Council and New London Architecture who are the group behind London Festival of Architecture that visited the borough earlier this year.
Enjoy Sutton, the Business Improvement District is working with the council team, Ibento Events SamiArt Sutton Community Dance Radio Marsden and some amazing volunteers to deliver part of the Mid Autumn Celebrations on our High Street on Saturday 21st. There will also be activities in Sutton Library throughout the day and in Throwley Yard in the afternoon/evening and over the course of the month.
They’re bringing back some big-screen gems from the last year, showcasing a range of stories from Hong Kong filmmakers. We’ve got the uplifting drama about family and music Band Four, as well as slick and action-packed heist movie The Moon Thieves.
Join them towards the end of September for riveting investigative drama In Broad Daylight, inspired by real events, about the shocking state of Hong Kong’s care-home industry, then follow it up with Where the Wind Blows, organised crime epic and love letter to a vibrant Hong Kong, featuring two of Asian cinema’s biggest stars.
