Family-run Peckish Cafe is Sutton’s Best Breakfast venue – as voted by you.
The cafe, which has traded in Sutton for 21 years, scooped the award after weeks of voting.
Some 17 venues were entered into the competition and put to the public vote. Five were shortlisted as finalists with the winners decided as a result of the overall number of votes cast and a mystery shopper visit.
Gail Bailey, who runs the cafe in Manor Place, with daughters Tracy Jane, 36, and Charlotte, 28, said: “I can’t quite believe it. It was amazing just to be in the final five.”
Celebrity chef Ed Baines announced the winners of the competition at the St George’s Day Best of British food fair, organised by Successful Sutton.
Highly commended was Holiday Inn, Tim’s Palace was commended while Riva Bingo and Poppins Restaurant were finalists in the contest.
