We met recently with several of our Levy members to discuss future events in Sutton and we all agreed that STEAM was not only a great universal event in our Town Centre, but given it is such a broad area of interest there is so much opportunity for our levy member business and our local SME businesses to be involved. STEAM drives over 2500 children to our Schools Invitational Day (usually on Fridays at a local school) and then over 9000 additional visitors to our High Street for the Saturday Family Day. It offers all things science, technology, engineering, arts/culture and mathematics by way of over 40+ exhibitors, activities, performances and workshops.
We are very keen for 2026 to be as SUTTON centric as possible and for as many schools in the borough to participate as possible. The event date is being agreed as we speak but will take place in July prior to Summer Holidays.

I remember when 3D printing was futuristic and we had an exhibitor at the first STEM fair we did (then The Big Bang) and we had a few 3D Printers exhibited. Going round the school today, the fact that students have access to this tech and ability access this type of equipment and maker spaces in general blows the mind! Don’t even get me started on the robots! Lots to takeaway, not least the partnership and STEM ambassador potential. Very exciting times.
